About

Pulse TT R2 2013

Welcome to Pulse Triathlon Club and our club website.

Pulse Triathlon club was established back in June 2003 when a group of friends embarked on their first interest in the sport of Triathlon by competing in a charity event. Looking to join a club they discovered at the time, there were few clubs suitable in South Dublin so they decided to establish a new club. Starting with just five and now over two hundred members, the club has grown from strength to strength over the years and is now regarded on the Irish Triathlon scene as one of the main Triathlon Clubs in the country.

The Club is based in South Dublin but we currently train in several locations around Dublin including the beautiful Phoenix Park, Ringsend, Blanchardstown, Terenure, Tallaght and Clondalkin. We also train in Killiney during the summer months for our Monday evening open water club swimming training. So no matter where you live in Dublin, Pulse Tri may be accessible to you.

Our members range from complete beginners to elite triathletes. We have members who have strong swim, bike and running backgrounds and other members with little or no sporting background but just looking for something new, exciting and sociable to be part of. All levels are welcomed and catered for.

As a club we cater our training for those aiming to compete in Sprint, Olympic, Middle Distance or Ironman distance Triathlons. There is always someone to train with, which is one of the main benefits of being part of a club.

We have members aged from 8 to 65 and have one of the largest numbers of female members in Ireland.

Some of our club members are training to complete their first triathlon, others to improve on last year’s times and plenty who are looking for more.

Our goal is to promote all levels of triathlon participation in a competitive yet friendly, supportive, enjoyable environment and all with the aim to make it cost effective and an accessible sport to all. You don’t have to be super fit or have a super bike to join in our training sessions. We aim to make the sport of triathlon as cost effective and accessible as much as possible.

Our Pulse Juniors section caters for youngsters aged 8 – 15 years. We hold monthly coached training sessions during winter, and run as number of junior duathlon and aquathlon events during the spring, summer and autumn months.

As an established and leading Triathlon Club we also host a number of events in the Triathlon Ireland race calendar. We run three Aquathlon Races at the Bull Wall, Clontarf, a Sprint Triathlon at Port Beach, Co. Louth, and three Kids Splash and Dash events at the Bull Wall, Clontarf.

So with so much happening there is always plenty to help out with which keeps our members busy when they are not training.

All you need is the will and the other members will tell you the rest.

Yours in Sport,

David Adams
