Two years ago, Pulse Tri pioneered the idea in triathlon clubs in Ireland of putting together a sponsorship pack for a number of amateur club athletes. The idea behind this is to allow our best athletes focus on their training and not have their success restricted by the financial burdens of what can be an expensive sport. We are now seeking applications for the 2009 season....................

Well I suppose the biggest thing I really felt I would achieve after finishing this race was getting my life back to some form of order and having a few pints. Oh how wrong I was. If anything its has left me hungry for more, with an Ironman possibly in sight and times to be bettered. This epic journey started at about 1:45 on Friday afternoon in Dublin. With grey skies and torrential rain all the way down to Kenmare the going was slow, painfully slow. At about 4 o clock we had not reached Goffs on the Naas rd, The only good thing about the traffic was that it allowed me and my race buddy, Shane, enough time to consume copious amounts of pasta, water and oatmeal bars. (Guiltless eating in the name of sport, love it)

Some pulsers had the mad idea of doing Kenmare' 08. This is their story in a nutshell a tough course, savage swim and biking conditions, and a humbling 13 mile run.
Now there are those in Pulse who would excel at this course or parts of it at least. Without naming names I am sure all of the better swimmers would have loved the 1900meter point to point swim which consists of a single turn-around point. Easy sighting to be had if your out in front im sure. Aim for the bridge – even I couldnt say I couldnt see it. I understand there are two lanes one under the left arch and one slightly more rocky path under the rightarch. Judging form this years times an opportunity for good swimmers to show off their stuff. Plenty of room to shake off those swim drafters!
