Pulse Triathlon Club

Welcome to Pulse Triathlon Club

Pulse Triathlon club was established back in June 2003 when a group of friends decided to compete in a charity event. Looking to join a club they discovered that, at the time, there were few clubs in Dublin, so they decided to set up a new club. Starting with just five members, the club has grown from strength to strength over the years. Now with over two hundred members, it is one of the larger triathlon clubs in Ireland.

Our goal is to promote all levels of triathlon participation in a competitive yet friendly, supportive, and enjoyable environment. You don’t need to be super fit to join in our training sessions because we cater for all abilities. You don’t need to be super rich either, we aim to make the sport of triathlon as accessible as possible.

The Club is based in South Dublin, but training is held at many locations around the Dublin area, including the Phoenix Park, Tymon Park, Corkagh Park, Tallaght, Blessington, Firhouse and Knocklyon. We also train at Killiney beach during the spring and summer months when we hold weekly open water swim training. So no matter where you live in Dublin, Pulse Triathlon Club is accessible to you.

As a club we cater our training for those aiming to compete in Sprint, Olympic, Middle Distance or Ironman distance triathlon. Our members range from complete beginners to élite triathletes. We have members who have strong swim, bike and running backgrounds. Other members have little or no sporting background but they are looking for something new, exciting and sociable to be part of. Some of our members are training to complete their first triathlon, others are more experienced and training to improve a personal best. We have members aged from 8 to 65 and have one of the largest numbers of female members in Ireland. We cater for all and there is always someone for you to train with.

Our Pulse Junior Triathlon Club caters for youngsters aged 8 to 16 years. Throughout the year we hold coached training sessions and organise a number of junior triathlon events.

As an established and leading triathlon club, we also host a number of events in the Triathlon Ireland race calendar. These include the Bull Wall Aquathlon Series at Clontarf, and the Port Beach Sprint Triathlon in Co. Louth.

With so much happening there is always plenty to help out with which keeps our members busy when they are not training.

All you need is the will and the other members will guide you through the rest.

Yours in Sport,

Jennifer Shorten
