Pulse Summer Training 2013

Summer Training

While you might not be breaking out the sun cream just yet, some of our summer training has kicked in. This includes:

Open Water Swim Sessions:
We have commenced the open water swim sessions at Killiney beach on Monday evenings from 7pm onwards. Meet at 6:45pm in the car park opposite Killiney Dart Station. There is no better way to prep yourself for the open water racing than taking part in this session. The intention is to divide the main bunch into groups of varying ability and provide a session that will cater for those varying abilities. So if you feel that you are a weak swimmer and may be slightly intimidated by the open water swim, we hope that we will be able to cater to your ability. This session is FREE!

Brick Sessions:
We are now providing brick training sessions (i.e. combination of run-bike-run intervals) on a Wednesday evening in the Phoenix Park from 7pm. Meeting point is at the Papal Cross car park. This session is great for improving your transition techniques and getting the body used to the feeling of “jelly legs” when changing from the bike to the run. This session is also FREE!!
On the occasions when the duathlon series is on in the park (i.e. June 5th, July 3rd and August 7th) we will NOT be holding the brick session, but the committee would encourage Pulse members to take part in these duathlon races and fly the flag for the club. And if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, Alison has kindly agreed to hold her (torturous!) spin class in Westpark Fitness on the evening of the duathlons……….so there can be no excuses.

Aquathlon Series
The Pulse Aquathlon Series is now open for entry. This comprises of three races which will be held at the Bull Wall on June 19th, July 31st and September 1st. Further details available here. Pulse members are encouraged to take part in these races which are always a bit of craic and a good training session for your race preparation needs.
